Michael Wells

Michael has spent four and a half years at Northwest Sign & Design as our Production Designer. He came to signs from product and industrial design, working as a user experience designer on warehouse, delivery, and automation tools, with a longtime interest in graphic design on the side. Signs sit right where physical and graphic design meet, and that is what drew him to the industry.

Michael's specialty is concept visualization: defining, refining, and communicating a design so customers can clearly see their sign and our craftsmen can build it. He sees his role as the partner between an idea and the people who make it real, and he works to keep the integrity of an early concept intact all the way through production and installation. He enjoys helping clients visualize their brand quickly and with high quality, and working through challenges side by side with the shop. He is skilled in 2D/3D visualization and engineering tools and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

A Pacific Northwest native, Michael lives in Lake Stevens with his three kids, who he says actually get along. He enjoys movies, biking, hiking, golf, and anything outdoors. Fun fact: he once worked as a phlebotomist and loved getting to meet and connect with patients.
