Position: Sign Designer
Northwest Sign & Design has an immediate opening for a full-time sign designer
Position Overview:
The Sign Designer designs and prepares concepts for electrical and non-electrical signage including exterior signage, interior signage, channel letters, wayfinding, environmental graphics, monuments and other forms of visual art and custom displays. This individual is a self-starter, capable of delivering brilliant creative ideas, and shows amazing attention to detail. The Senior Sign Designer prepares sign designs from information provided by our sales team, project managers, and clients. That information may come from client supplied ideas, a sign program, or the designer may be requested to provide an original design that aesthetically meets the client’s needs. Sign Design requires the effective use of typography, graphics, color, and space that is balanced and visually pleasing. The complexity of the designs varies which requires flexibility in adapting to each individual project.

This position works with members of the design department, sales, sales support, project management, fabrication, and others to complete the vision and mission of the company as well as provide outstanding customer service. Responsibilities:
1. Work with a design team to design concepts for electrical and non-electrical signage including exterior signage, interior signage, channel letters, wayfinding, environmental graphics, monuments and other forms of visual art and custom displays.
2. Collaborate with and support the Creative Director and a small team of engineers, production designers, project managers, and salespeople.
3. Prepare concepts using Adobe Illustrator and other Adobe Creative Suite applications.
4. Coordinate with the engineering team to develop design intent and production drawings.
5. Prepare final documentation and production-ready artwork for a variety of applications.
6. Complete ADA programming and sign schedules
7. Use of ERP system for a variety of daily task and project management
8. Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements when necessary.
9. Work with detailed wayfinding projects of all sizes including wayfinding schedules and programming
10. Be accountable to team, budget, and schedule while upholding the highest design standards.
11. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Required qualifications:
• 5+ years of professional experience in environmental graphic design, signage design, wayfinding or similar studio experience
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills that work well in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced environment
• Strong presentation skills; writing skills a definite advantage
• Experience with planning, documentation, and management of environmental graphics, wayfinding and signage projects
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and MS Office
• Familiarity with architectural construction documents, scales, sections, plans, and elevations; proficiency in drawing in scale
• Qualified knowledge of ADA sign code
• Knowledge of sign fabrication methods and materials
• Experience with wayfinding programming and scheduling
Desired Education/Training:
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, environmental graphics, architecture, visual communication or related field is desired
• Proven experience, work history, and portfolio work may be substituted for education on a case by case basis.
Experience:
• Sign design, wayfinding, environmental graphics, and other high-end visual arts
• Computer-aided design
• Color, layout, fonts and other forms of graphic design
Environment and/or Physical Factors:
• Professional office setting

Desired Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Sketch-up, Revit, or other 3D modeling and rendering software
• Knowledge of Solidworks

Position: Vinyl Graphics Applicator and Assembler
Northwest Sign & Design has an immediate opening for a full-time Vinyl Graphics Applicator and Assembler.
The Vinyl Graphics Applicator and Assembler will be responsible for all aspects of producing various signage within the vinyl department including ADA, dimensional letter assembly, and wayfinding.
To be successful in this position you will need to be achievement-oriented, determined to attain set goals, have attention to detail, act with integrity and professionalism, able to meet the needs of internal and external customers, and have strong problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately measure, cut, and lay materials for various signage according to shop drawings.
- Construct plotter files and operate a vinyl plotter to cut graphics and designs, as well as make patterns for the installation department.
- Maintain quality control for the signage and installation checks (patterns, hardware, etc.).
- Maintain equipment and cleanliness of the work area.
- Able to follow instructions and work unsupervised.
- Load and unload materials on to and off workstations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Qualifications:
- Technically savvy and experienced with modern software tools.
- Understand the different materials involved in signage manufacturing.
- Ability to operate roller to roller laminator.
- Ability to facilitate paint mask creation and installation.
- Must be able to read and understand drawings, plans, and specs.
- Knowledge and confidence to share while being willing to learn.
- Good math skills.
- Solid analytical skills to solve problems.
- High safety awareness.
- Be knowledgeable in ADA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extremely organized with the ability to multi-task.

Position: Journey Level Sign Installer or Experienced Apprentice Level Installer
Northwest Sign & Design has an immediate opening for a journey level sign installation/service expert.
Responsibilities:
- Completing the installation of all types of signage using a variety of equipment including bucket trucks, ladders, and lifts, efficiently and safely.
- Must be able to complete labor-intensive work repeatedly, including loading signage onto trucks, lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, digging footings, etc.
- Managing truck inventory to ensure it is properly stocked before leaving the shop.
- Performing site surveys.
- Reading and working to plans, communicating any discrepancies to the appropriate person.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and solve problems.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in electrical engineering or other related fields
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
- Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, with both internal and external customers.
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Have general construction knowledge.
- Have clean driving record with CDL
- Have a crane certificate
- 04 Electrical license, required

Position: General Fabricator/Sign Assembly
The Assembler will work on many projects from shop drawings to when the project ships or is picked up. This individual will be responsible with the coordination of management, for organizing incoming requests and establishing accurate timelines to meet fabrication scheduled and project completion dates.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assembly and/or fabrication of electrical and non-electrical signs according to job sheet instruction.
- Accurately measuring and precisely cutting materials involved in the assigned work including Vinyl cutting using PC and Graphtec cutter.
- Using hand, bench and standalone equipment including, but not limited to, sanders, drills, grinders, die grinders, cutoff saws, manual sheet metal breaks, sheet metal rolls, shearing equipment, table saws, soldering iron, etc.
- Understanding of different materials involved in signage manufacturing
- Assembling crates and packaging the finished signage
- QC review, installation checks (patterns, hardware, etc.)
- Reading and understanding technical drawings.
- Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised.
- Loading and unloading materials onto and off workstations.
- Fabricating channel letters, clouds, raceways, including but not limited to trim cap, channel bending, paint prep, low voltage wiring, etc.
- General housekeeping.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Functional and Technical Competencies:
- Sheet metal work experience and other sheet metal machinery highly regarded.
- Technically savvy and experienced with modern software tools.
Education/Training and Certification, Licensure, Registration Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Forklift License ideal
Experience:
- 1 year of manufacturing and/or general sign experience preferred
- Training is available for candidates with a basic knowledge of tools AND an ability to work well with written and or verbal directions

Position: Project Manager
Northwest Sign & Design has an immediate opening for a Project Manager. In this role, the Project Manager will be working closely with the Project Management Team, Sales, and Production to facilitate the completion of jobs.
Responsibilities:
- Defining project objectives, project scope, roles & responsibilities.
- Defining resource requirements and managing resource availability & allocation – both internal and third party.
- Outlining a budget based on requirements and tracking costs to deliver projects on budget.
- Preparing a detailed project plan to schedule key project milestones, workstreams & activities.
- Managing the delivery of projects according to this plan.
- Tracking projects and providing regular reports on project status to the project management team and key stakeholders.
- Managing and adjusting for any changes in project scope, schedule, and/or budget.
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Managing the relationship and communication with the client and all stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered to their satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications and Adobe Acrobat/Illustrator. Experience with Blue Beam is a plus.
- Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with enterprise resource planning software.
- High level of customer service skills and a professional attitude.
- Ability to do site walks with customers and collect feedback on the project.
- 5+ years of experience in the Sign or Construction Industry and as a Project Manager.
- Knowledge of Sign Types.
